UsercanalsoclickSWITCHTOPRE-LEARNEDPROFILESwhichlistsalltheintegratedprofiles.
UseSWITCHTOADVANCEDOPTIMIZATIONtooptimizeanyapplication,eventheonesforwhichDellPrecisionOptimizerhasabuilt-inlegacyprofile.
Theprocesstooptimizeanewapplicationisbyselectingthetargetprocessusingthebutton.
EitherselectanapplicationfromthelistofmostcommonlyusedapplicationsthataredeterminedbyDellPrecisionOptimizer,orselectBROWSEFORMOREtoselecttheexecutableapplication.
Afteryouselecttheapplication,itismarkedasInProgressuntilDellPrecisionOptimizerfinisheslearningthebehavioroftheapplicationusingmachinelearningandapplieslearnedoptimizationsettings.
Duringthisstage,youcanpausetheapplicationlearningandlaterresumeapplicationlearning.
YoumustactivelyusetheapplicationforDellPrecisionOptimizersoftwaretolearntheapplication'sbehaviorandthendeterminethemostoptimalsettingsforthatapplication.
Whenyourapplicationislearningandtheperformancescoreisnotdisplayed,ensurethatyoudonotturnoffthelearningapplication,asDellPrecisionOptimizercollectsutilizationdatawhileoptimizingthelearningapplication.
Youcanalsochoosetocancelthelearningatanystage,whichwilldiscardanylearnedinformationforthatapplication.
Ittypicallytakesbetween1hourand5hourstolearnanapplication.
However,iftherearelongperiodsinbetweenwheretheapplicationisnotrunningorinactive,thisperiodmaybemuchlonger.

Sometimes,OptimizedmaypromptsyoutoRebootthesystemorRestarttheapplicationfortheoptimizationstotakeeffect.
UsetheDisable/Enableoptionforeachoptimizedapplicationifyouwanttotemporarilyturnoff/ontheoptimizationsappliedbyDellPrecisionOptimizerforthatapplication.
YoumaywanttodothisifyouhaveusedDellPrecisionOptimizertooptimizemorethanoneapplicationandtheyhaveconflictingoptimizationsettings.
Insuchacase,DellPrecisionOptimizerdisplaysawarningmessagebeforeyouenabletheoptimizationfortheconflictingapplication.
Afteroptimization,theoverallperformancescoreoftheapplicationandabargraphwithCPUandStorageimprovementscoresaredisplayed.
Youcanimportorexportitsconfigurations.
DellPrecisionOptimizershowsthestockiconforanyimportedprofileinsteadoftheactualapplicationicon.
