TheelectricalconductivityornonconductivityofHoseandFittingsisdependentuponmanyfactorsandmaybesusceptibletochange.

Surgepressuresandpeakpressurescanusuallyonlybedeterminedbysensitiveelectricalinstrumentationthatmeasuresandindicatespressuresatmillisecondintervals.
Mechanicalpressuregaugesindicateonlyaveragepressuresandcannotbeusedtodeterminesurgepressuresorpeaktransientpressures.
PublishedburstpressureratingsforHoseisformanufacturingtestpurposesonlyandisnoindicationthattheProductcanbeusedinapplicationsattheburstpressureorotherwiseabovethepublishedmaximumrecommendedworkingpressure.

6Permeation:Permeation(thatis,seepagethroughtheHose)willoccurfrominsidetheHosetooutsidewhenHoseisusedwithgases,liquidandgasfuels,andrefrigerants(includingbutnotlimitedtosuchmaterialsashelium,dieselfuel,gasoline,naturalgas,orLPG).
Thispermeationmayresultinhighconcentrationsofvaporswhicharepotentiallyflammable,explosive,ortoxic,andinlossoffluid.
Dangerousexplosions,fires,andotherhazardscanresultwhenusingthewrongHoseforsuchapplications.
ThesystemdesignermusttakeintoaccountthefactthatthispermeationwilltakeplaceandmustnotuseHoseifthispermeationcouldbehazardous.
Thesystemdesignermusttakeintoaccountalllegal,government,insurance,oranyotherspecialregulationswhichgoverntheuseoffuelsandrefrigerants.
NeveruseaHoseeventhoughthefluidcompatibilityisacceptablewithoutconsideringthepotentialhazardouseffectsthatcanresultfrompermeationthroughtheHoseAssembly.
PermeationofmoisturefromoutsidetheHosetoinsidetheHosewillalsooccurinHoseassemblies,regardlessofinternalpressure.
Ifthismoisturepermeationwouldhavedetrimentaleffects(particularly,butnotlimitedtorefrigerationandairconditioningsystems),incorporationofsufficientdryingcapacityinthesystemorotherappropriatesystemsafeguardsshouldbeselectedandused.

Fluidsunderpressurecanbedangerousandpotentiallylethaland,therefore,extremecautionmustbeexercisedwhenworkingwithfluidsunderpressureandhandlingtheHosestransportingthefluids.
Fromtimetotime,HoseAssemblieswillfailiftheyarenotreplacedatpropertimeintervals.
Usuallythesefailuresaretheresultofsomeformofmisapplication,abuse,wearorfailuretoperformpropermaintenance.
WhenHosesfail,generallythehighpressurefluidsinsideescapeinastreamwhichmayormaynotbevisibletotheuser.
Undernocircumstancesshouldtheuserattempttolocatetheleakby"feeling"withtheirhandsoranyotherpartoftheirbody.
