Thesignificanceandfeasibilityofpreventionbecameevident,butnosoundinformationwasavailabletodemonstratetheeffectivenessofthesemeasures[2].
Mostprogramsrunninghaveshortdura-tion.
Anosteoporosispreventionprogramwasinitiatedmorethan20yearsagoinHungaryandfollowupinfor-mationbecameaccessiblebynow.
Nationalwidestatisti-calfiguresgavesolidevidenceofthefeasibilityofPPP.
TheonlycountrywithintheEuropeanUnionwasHun-gary,where–withouractiveontribution-a20yearspreventioncampaigntoreduceosteoporoticfracturesandSocialsecurityexpenses-resultedinanapprovedpositiveoutcome,indicatedbythedecreasingoverallhipfractureincidence,andrelatedexpensesdespiteoftheincreasednumberofover60yearsagepopulationandextendedlifeexpectancy(1990-2012)andinflation[3].
