OnAugust12lastyear,theYESCannouncedthatalldevelopersapplyingforaBuildingCompletionCertificate(BCC)fromYangonCityDevelopmentCommittee(YCDC)wouldneedtodeterminewhetherornotthebuildingrequiredtheinstallationofaprivatetransformertoprovideadditionalpowertothestructure.
Thenewrulewasintendedtocopewithincreasedurbanisation,whichisputtingcostpressuresonelectricitysupply,authoritiessaidatthetime.
Now,developersdonotneedtoinstallthetransformersbecausetheYESChasissuedanewdirectiveonFebruary15.
Theoldpolicystatedthatdevelopersinthecitywouldbeobligedtoinstalltransformerstosupplypowerfornewbuildingswhichconsumemorethan30kilowattsofelectricityperday.
Butthatdirectivefacedbacklashamongthedeveloperswhowereoverwhelminglyagainsttheidea.

Havingcompletedtheconstruction,thejointventurelauncheditsopeningceremonyforitsdistributionandsalesservicesatthecompanyheadquartersonFebruary21.

Thenewrulewasintendedtocopewithincreasedurbanisation,whichisputtingcostpressuresonelectricitysupply,authoritiessaidatthetime.
Now,developersdonotneedtoinstallthetransformersbecausetheYESChasissuedanewdirectiveonFebruary15.
Theoldpolicystatedthatdevelopersinthecitywouldbeobligedtoinstalltransformerstosupplypowerfornewbuildingswhichconsumemorethan30kilowattsofelectricityperday.
