On Three Key Principles for Developing Speaking Skill
Abstract:Language communicative competence is the ultimate goal of English teaching.Speaking ab ility is important in English study and communic ation.Speaking can help students to learn English, particularly if the authentic communication in English occurs. This shows that speaking is also important in English language teaching.Which key principles are important for developing speaking skill?Mainly from a theoretical analysis of the importance and the necessity of three key principles of developing speaking skill, this paper intends to explain the application of these principles.

1 Introduction
English speaking is to communicate with others by expressing ideas not by focusing on fixed structures. Language communicative competence is the ultimate goal of English teaching. Speaking ability is important in English study and communication.Teaching speaking is not easily separated from other objectives.The teacher might have some aims when the spoken language is the focus of classroom activity: for instance,helping the students to gain awareness ofpracticing some aspect of linguistic knowledge, to develop production skills, to raise awareness of some socio-linguistic or pragmatic point. Speaking is not a discrete skill.To develop the students’ speaking skill, three important components (affective factor,appropriacy o f parole and infiltrating western culture)can be applied in the speaking lessons.
2 Affective Factor Plays an Important Role in English Speaking Lessons
2.1 The importance of affective factor
Affective factors and classroom atmosphere play very important roles in English speaking teaching.Positive factors and harmonious atmosphere will contribute to the efficiency o f English learning.
As human beings learn to use a second language, they also develop a new mode of thinking, feeling, and acting--a second identity.The learners will get a sense of fragility,defensiveness,and a raising of inhibitions easily. Students will feel so silly or humiliated when the lack o f words or structure in face-to-face communication.The teacher can find that students are suspicious of their capacity of accomplishing the task.They are afraid of making mistakes when they speak the target language.Hence,
